Friday 26 October Spring Arts Walk Opening Night

5.30pm - 8.30pm: Spring Arts Walk Opening Night: Celebrate the start of the Spring Arts 2012 program and The Mansfield and District Community Bank Visual Art Open Competition.
Enjoy drinks, finger food, music and good company at the Delatite Hotel.
5.30pm: MAD Orchestra performance: Don’t miss our talented and ever-surprising MAD musicians at the Delatite Hotel.
6.00pm: Spring Arts Welcome: Introductions, speeches and the announcement of Spring Arts prize winners – all at the Delatite Hotel.
6.30pm: Spring Arts Walk – Guided Tours: Set out from the Delatite Hotel with your guide, visit venues, meet artists and view some wonderful visual art and photography.
8.00pm: ‘Out There’ Youth Graffiti Art Unveiling: A Special Event – Be there for the unveiling of graffiti artworks created by talented young Mansfield artists – 3 Chenery Street.
8.30pm until late: Live Music: Relax and enjoy a free live music concert under the median strip marquee in High Street.

8.30am - 2.00pm: Mansfield Farmers' Market featuring the "Gorgeous Gumboots" exhibition. Fresh Regional Produce direct from the person who grows, bakes, creates or butchers the food. Come along to the breakfast stall and grab a gourmet sausage provided by our meat producers - try before you buy. Olives, cheese, cakes, meat, bread, condiments, fruit, vegetables - it's all here.

It also offers creative ideas for garden ornamentation and is an excellent example of how a small garden space can be designed to make it accessible to wheelchairs/walker frames. Cabaret tells the story of a singer in a burlesque club, contrasting with the lives of ordinary people striving to make sense of the changes happening in Berlin in the 1930's.

Dave Dando Animalia Exhibition at the High Country Maze

"Animalia" sculpture exhibition

The theme of metal sculptor Dave Dando's exhibition comes from the latin root ' animalis' which means 'drawing breath'. This covers birds, animals and human forms.
Dave admits that he's hopelessly preoccupied with realism and expressing realistic forms circling around the human/animal interaction. All scultpures are for sale.

The Animalia exhibition and sale of artwork, can be discovered amongst the gardens at High Country Maze, 678 Piries Goughs Bay Rd, Goughs Bay Vic 3723.

The tour de force work of Finucane & Smith has been globally acclaimed for its capacity to ‘drag cabaret kicking and screaming into the 21st century”. Moira will also talk about what, in her 20 year experience makes for great extraordinary and unforgettable cabaret and burlesque. With pictures!

Favourites like bagpipes, clowns, horses and an amazing display of ingeniously designed floats will add to the carnival atmosphere of a town transformed and in Festival mode. This is a true community event with over 300 people participating. See Mansfield dress up, show off and parade along High Street. You may even become part of a Bushranger hold-up. Get a good spot to see all the action.

8.30am - 10.00am: Mansfield Fun Run registration at Visitor Information Centre or pre-register by emailing asouthey@ggs.vic.edu.au with the subject “Registration” and stating the names, age category, gender and phone number of the participants for an express lane tag pick-up on the race day. Entry $5 plus optional donation with all proceeds going to the Mansfield District Hospital.


Fun Run

9.30am: Mansfield Fun Run (or walk!) starts and makes its way along the new Rail Trail. Distances to suit everyone. Presented by (Geoff Williams' charity) and GGS Timbertop.

9:30am: 1 km U/10:                                          
9:45am: 4 km U/12 & U/14                        
10:15am: 8 km U/18, 18-34, 35+                 
10:15am: 4 km (walk) Open

9.00am: Bonnie Doon Country Market & Car Boot Sale. Stalls, bric-a-brac, treasure, live music and food. Bonnie Doon Community Centre grounds, Arnot Street, Bonnie Doon.

10.00am - 4.00pm: Fly Fishing Open Day. This day is for those who may already have an interest in trout fishing as well as an introduction to the sport/recreation of fly fishing. Gain an appreciation of fly fishing equipment, principles and objectives of fly fishing, casting techniques, fly selection and tying techniques, stream entomology, fish handling and releasing, awareness of our trout fishery - its management and protection. Note that there is no intention to take people on to the stream fishing as part of this session. BBQ lunch available. Children accompanied by a parent are welcome.

Dave Dando Animalia Exhibition at the High Country Maze"Animalia" sculpture exhibition

The theme of metal sculptor Dave Dando's exhibition comes from the latin root ' animalis' which means 'drawing breath'. This covers birds, animals and human forms.
Dave admits that he's hopelessly preoccupied with realism and expressing realistic forms circling around the human/animal interaction.
The Animalia exhibition and sale of artwork, can be discovered amongst the gardens at High Country Maze, 678 Piries Goughs Bay Rd, Goughs Bay Vic 3723.
